Heres how you install ElvUI and make the most out of your WoW experience. While there are plenty of World of Warcraft AddOns via third-party websites and software, ElvUI is a plugin-based overhaul that provides intricacy like no other.
A new folder called “SharedMedia_MyMedia” should now pop up within the Addons folder. ElvUI offers World of Warcraft players a fully customizable user interface that replaces Blizzards default UI. Go back to SharedMedia folder and rename “” file to “MyMedia.bat” now that you can see the file extension.Go to the Windows > Control Panel > Folder Alternatives (or something like it, it has a folder icon) > Display and disable “Hide file extensions for known file types”.There is a file you need to rename: “” but you can’t see the “.txt” bit without enabling file extensions in your computer settings.After installing the addon, locate the “SharedMedia” folder in World of Warcraft > Interface > Addons.But to make the texture appear in the texture menu in the addon menus, we need to install it first. After you’ve downloaded the addons and the art file (link above), follow the steps below: This addon allows you to import your own textures, but also sounds, fonts etc and then share it with all the big addons (Elvui, DBM, Skada, etc.). Now we need to install the art texture, and we’re going to do it with the addon SharedMedia. Make sure to download all of these addons, otherwise you might get invalid tags when you import the Elvui profile.ĭownload the art files, Steel Textures, on my Gumroad Page (it’s free!)
